In some cases, a second nematode treatment is useful, especially if the pest hasn't been completely eradicated or if conditions weren't ideal during the first application. Most nematodes are most effective in the first few weeks after application, and you may need additional treatments if:
- The plague is larger than expected or is recurring quickly.
- Environmental conditions such as temperature or humidity were not optimal for the nematodes.
- A persistent pest (such as grubs or snails) may respond slowly to the initial treatment.
If you're considering a second treatment, it's usually best to do it 2 to 3 weeks after the first. This gives the nematodes time to do their work and ensures that any remaining larvae or insects that haven't been completely eradicated are dealt with.
For light infestations, a second treatment is often not necessary, but it can do no harm to speed up the process with an extra dose of nematodes.
